John Edward Bauer, 38, and Nathaniel Nathan Gatlin, 34, were sentenced Wednesday by a federal judge in Phoenix to 41- and 30-month terms, respectively, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
In addition, each will be required to perform community service during a three-year period after their release and pay $6,533 in restitution.

In imposing sentence, U.S. District Neil W. Wake noted that Bauer and Gatlin have extensive criminal records, but Bauer has had more problems with the law, thus landing him a longer prison stretch.
Both pleaded guilty to mail theft, admitting they stole two large mail collection boxes in December 2005 that were bolted to the ground, then drove to Bauer's home and pried open the containers.
The boxes, containing items for more than 1,500 people, including cash, gift cards and checks, were in front of post offices in Surprise and Scottsdale, prosecutors said.
