Librarian X With great power comes great bibliography.

Zotero

My book Zotero: A guide for librarians, teachers and researchers is  available from ACRL Publications. You can buy it on Amazon or from the ALA Store, in print or ebook editions.

If you're considering an ebook edition, I recommend buying it from the ALA Store: you'll get DRM-free PDF, ePub, and Kindle/Mobipocket files that will work on just about any device out there. ALA also sells a print/ebook bundle. (As is unfortunately always the case, the Kindle edition sold by Amazon is encumbered with Amazon's DRM.)

Note to ALA Store customers outside the US: The ALA Store is set up only to ship to the United States, even for e-books. If you wish to purchase the e-book edition from the ALA Store, enter your State as Alabama and the Zip Code as 60611. Enter the rest of your address as accurately as possible. This workaround will allow you to purchase the e-edition. I hope that ALA will correct this problem soon. Please direct any purchasing questions or problems to ALA or Amazon, as I have no influence over the sales or distribution policies of either store.

"Puckett draws on his deep understanding of Zotero's technology to provide clear, concise guidelines and tips for beginners and experts alike. As a bonus, he convincingly argues why you -- yes, you -- need to be using research software and why Zotero is the best choice." -- Sean Takats, co-director of Zotero and and Director of Research Projects at the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media

"Jason does an awesome job of explaining how to perform both basic and advanced functions using Zotero. His book is geared not only to librarians, but to anyone doing research, to anyone who might benefit from a research assistant in their browser. ... This handy guide is a must have for anyone who does research or writes for publication." -- Nicole Engard, author of Practical Open Source Software for Libraries

The book's bibliography is provided below.

  1. Jason, I’m looking forward to the book immensely. Particularly the teaching with Zotero section.

  2. Thank you, Stacey. I’m pretty pleased with the teaching chapter, so I hope you’ll find it useful when the book comes out.

  3. Hi Jason,

I’m very interested in reading your book. Can’t wait. Furthermore it is wonderful to have a pre-look on your bibliography – many interesting papers in it I didn’t know before. Maybe you already recognized it: Me and others compiling a bibliography with works on reference management (software) using Mendeley – see http://www.mendeley.com/groups/498071/reference-management/papers/. Join us if you like!

  4. Jason, I bought two copies because I knew I would need to share it. Thank you for doing this. This will surely help to quicken the pace of teachers adopting Zotero for instructional use.
