Attention Students: Change in Tax Reporting Method for 1098T |
Due to the recent conversion to the Datatel computer information system, Coastal Carolina Community College has a change in the reporting method for the 1098T tax statement.
Coastal Carolina Community College is changing its method of reporting under IRS Code Section 6050S-1(b)(1) from the payments received method to the amounts billed method effective for calendar year 2007. This means the amounts reported to students on the 1098T statements are the amounts billed to the student’s account during 2007. This amount however may not be the amount paid by the student. Please be advised of this change when preparing your 2007 Income Tax Returns.
If you have any questions in reference to this matter, please contact Michelle Stiles, Comptroller. at (910)938-6218.
