Lord Tonight I beg of you to spread your love and warmth to all the victims of today's events in Alexandria. Please comfort tonight and the days ahead those closest to all the victims as they come to grips with today's tragedy. I beg of you lord to comfort my friend Johnny tonight and in the days and weeks ahead as he deals with the loss of his brother. I pray lord for you to hear the collection of voices begging for you to accect the soul of Joey in its rightful place next to you. I pray for Joey's wife and children as well, hoping for them to find peace and to let them know that they are all in our thoughts tonight and in the future. Please also do not forget the other victims today, in that they may have a quick physical healing as well as a spiritual awakening as well. I ask these things in Christ name. Amen

The TT finally updated and confirmed Marty's death. They misspelled his name... but at least they are reporting it. Not sure what is going on with KALB.

Wives will be without husbands and kids without fathers.... what a sad day. Sad

Goodnight everyone. I was trying to stay up to see if KALB had anything to report, but since the TT verified everything, I'm going to bed. My heart goes out to these men's wives, children, family and friends.

There have been a lot of names of people entered on this thread tonight.

Just a couple of threads back, someone asked the name of Joey's wife. So then someone put her name on here.

This is a forum that can be read by people all over the world. We have no idea who is reading here.

I highly suggest that people go back to any posts they have that gives out the names of people and remove those names. Some names have been published in the mainstream media already. So those names are already out there. But other names should not be publised on line like this.

The privacy of the families should be protected. We have already seen the kind of circus that the media draws .... these victims and their families need their privacy.

What a tragedy. May you all find something that eases your suffering. Perspective is key. Life is a journey that eventually ends in death. Take care in your mourning not to be too selfish. Don't focus on what you will now have to live without, but instead celebrate the journey that your loved ones have taken. Cherish their successful sojourn which they followed from beginning to end. Do not condemn the killer. Anger will forever taint their success. Condemnation will come to those who have earned it, from powers beyond you. Don't waste your emotions on someone you can't affect. Waste no time. Love what is left in THIS life, in THIS world, NOW.

MIDNIGHT MANIAC,

I think that most of the people went off to bed, to try to get some sleep..... if they can after this horrible day.

Maybe they will see this tomorrow.

Or maybe I'll create a thread on this topic as I'm sure my post on the topic will become buried quickly.

Gabby2 you make a very valid point and one that I think KALB has tried to up hold by not releasing information until officially confirmed. You'll notice that much of the information the TT is providing is a family friend said type reporting. I think out of respect for the familes this stuff shouldn't be reported until officially released.

It truly is important to protect privacy and I agree with you a lot of names have been thrown out there in this thread. Many times aquantances and associates mean well, but don't always realize by putting names out there just what they are doing.

I know both of the victims in this tragedy and I am truly heart broken for the families. Both of those men were good people just living life on life's terms. May GOD Bless and keep these familes in these most trying days for them. I couldn't help but think of the upcoming holiday season and how these folks will be oh so sorely missed even more so than right now. How as they left their homes this morning to head into their day, they never realized what laid ahead for them. How precious life truly is!

God Bless you all...

Two innocents killed, what a shame. The killer is dead, just as he should be. Best wishes with the emotional recovery of all the survivors.

To the Alexandria Police Dept. Mayor Roy and the other law enforcement officers that helped in the shootings on Thursday my sincere thanks for a job well done and the manner in which you handled the situation downtown. My sorrow goes out to the family of Camille and Sammie and the Thiels family. Thanks Mayor Roy for being there personally to monitor and be there with your officers. To Clfford Gatlin who is always a professional in his work and life your a great person. Mr Sam Wooley now wrilte some stupid letter and dont even think about complaining . Isnt it comforting to know that we have a police force that does such a great job. ONe more reason for me to have voted for the renewal of our tax to be able to have such fine officers . I hope that we can find the money to buy the equipment that our force needs.it was a shame for them to have to wait to get the robot from MOnroe. Also when the last event happend several years ago i understand that some of this type of equipment was needed and now is the time to buy and upgrade even futher for our officers to have. Thanks to Channel 5 for the professional reporting and not letting what happen several years ago at the courthouse be witnessed by the young public.Great job everyone. Gayle Underwood

I am greatly saddened by Marty's death. I remember him walking in the door everyday where I worked downtown. He was always cheerful and delivered the mail with a smile. He is a familiar face to all who work and have worked in the downtown area. It is so sad that his life was so tragically taken while he was serving our community as he did everyday for years. My prayers go out to all of our postal workers and all of Marty's family. God bless you all.
