Postal employee charged with larceny

LAKEVILLE — A postal employee was arrested Tuesday on a larceny charge, police reported.

Lakeville police assisted the U.S. Postal Service's Office of Inspector General with the investigation and arrested a rural carrier assistant at 9:41 a.m. on Highland Road, according to a news release from Lakeville police.

Christopher R. Easingwood, 23, of 107 S. Washington St., Norton, was charged with larceny by false pretenses, police said. Easingwood was scheduled to be arraigned today in Wareham District Court.

Special Agent Jeffrey Powers of the Office of Inspector General conducted the investigation and was assisted by Lakeville Detective Sgt. Sean Joyce, police said.

No other details were available and the incident remains under investigation, police said.
