First Ward

Eugenia Moore

EugeniaMoore

Council Vice President Eugenia Moore is a Life-Long member of St. Charles Lawanga Parish (formerly Holy Rosary Parish). A Eucharistic Minister for the past eight years, she has also participated in the choir, the Christian Mothers, and the Parish Council. She is also a member of Peter Clavers Ladies Auxiliary. Before moving to Wilkinsburg, Ms. Moore was a member of the Board of Directors of East Hills Bracey Drive Tenant Association. She is now an active member of the Cotton Tree Association of Sierra Leone, Pittsburgh Branch, where she serves as the Organizing Secretary. She has worked for over 30 years in the Pediatric Department of Transplantation. In addition, she assisted at Pittsburgh's Healthcare system outreach in Wilkinsburg and did private duty nursing care with special interest for children, disadvantaged citizens, and the elderly. Ms. Moore was Council President from 2007-2011 and has lived in Wilkinsburg for 20 years. She is a homeowner in the First Ward of Wilkinsburg. She attended Pittsburgh public school system, and is currently attending a distance learning program with Excelsior College, School of Nursing.

Paige Trice

Paige Trice

Paige E. Trice was elected to serve her first term on council beginning in 2008 and was re-elected in 2011. She formerly served as Chair of the Personnel Committee, and is Council's representative to the Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments. Ms. Trice is a former member of the Wilkinsburg Planning Commission, Wilkinsburg Intra-Community Network, and the Wilkinsburg Weed & Seed TALL Team. Presently, Ms. Trice serves as vice president of the BCGM Block Club and member of the Wilkinsburg Community Emergency Response Team.

Marita Garrett

Marita Garrett

For the past seven years, Marita Garrett has worked in community and outreach development with the University of Pittsburgh. As an outreach coordinator, she coordinates presentations to senior groups/organizations and health fairs towards raising awareness about Alzheimer Disease and dementia. Additionally, she coordinates community lectures and facilitates monthly Alzheimer Disease caregiver support groups. Ms. Garrett received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Graduate Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Pittsburgh. She is pursuing her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and serves on the University of Pittsburgh, Center for Health Equity’s Community Research Advisory Board, in addition to the Fund Development Committee for the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA chapter. She was recently appointed to serve on the executive committee for the Congress of Neighboring Communities (CONNECT). Second Ward

Vanessa McCarthy-Johnson

Vanessa McCarthy-Johnson

President of Council Vanessa McCarthy-Johnson was elected to serve her first term on Council 2008, and was re-elected in 2011. She is currently the chair of Public Safety and was a member of the Economic Development Committee. Vanessa is a fully active member of the community, working on committees that help strengthen Wilkinsburg, including Community Day, Arts In the Parks, Toys For Tots, the annual Holiday Parade and Commitment to the Community - PSO Concert in Wilkinsburg. She is one of the founding board members of the Wilkinsburg Sun and a founding member and current President of Wilkinsburg HOOPS. In addition to Council, Ms. McCarthy-Johnson serves on the Board of the Wilkinsburg Branch of The Boys and Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania, and a former member of the Wilkinsburg Weed and Seed AID Team. As an advocate for early childhood education, she was appointed by Governor Ed Rendell to the Early Learning Council and is the Chair of the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning Parent Advisory Council. Pamela Macklin

Pam Macklin

Pamela Macklin was elected to Wilkinsburg Council in 1997, 2001, 2009 and again in 2013. During her first term Ms Macklin served as Vice President of Council and Chair of the Finance Committee; her second term Ms Macklin served as President of Council and Co-Chair of the Economic Development Committee. For the past 4 years Ms Macklin has served on the Wilkinsburg Planning Commission, formerly as President. She also is a Board Member and chair of the Economic Restructuring Committee of the Wilkinsburg Community Development Corporation. Ms Macklin is the president of the Wilkinsburg Democratic Committee and was founder of the Princeton Park Block Club. Ms. Macklin was Chair of the Capital Planning Committee, served on the Finance Committee and was re-appointed to the Planning Commission in 2010. Patrick Shattuck

Patrick Shattuck

Patrick Shattuck was sworn into office on January 6, 2014. A resident of Wilkinsburg since 2007, Patrick is the Director of Real Estate Development for the Mon Valley Initiative. Working to revitalize emerging communities has been the cornerstone of his career and personal efforts for over twenty years. With a degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Historic Preservation, he understands the important balance of working with residents and communities to respect significant places, reduce blight and implement vital change. Since 2009 he has served on Wilkinsburg’s Planning Commission, its chair since 2011 and has been on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board since 2011. Mr. Shattuck was appointed to the PA Historic Preservation Advisory Board in 2009 where he continues to serve. He has volunteered with Wilkinsburg Girl Scout Troop 51058 since 2007. Third Ward

Michael Lefebvre

Michael Lefebvre

Michael Lefebvre has been a 3rd Ward Wilkinsburg resident since 2000. He is the Finance Chair and formerly chaired the Public Safety Committee. He also served on the Finance and Capital Planning Committees. Mr. Lefebvre is a homeowner and has organized resident-led community improvement projects such as Green Street and Whitney Park clean ups. He is a member of the Planning Commission. He has served on the Wilkinsburg Community Days and Toys for Tots committees for several years. He was elected to Council in 2009 and again in 2013. Kate Granneman
