Let me start by saying that I feel for the individuals and families that had Christmas package delays via FedEx and UPS. This is especially upsetting if they are unable to get back some of the money they paid for premium, guaranteed shipping costs.

However, I find it interesting that the U.S. Postal Service didn't seem to have similar issues on such a large scale. Isn't the conservative mantra that private business can do no wrong and everything government touches is a complete disaster? I can't help but believe that if this had happened to the U.S. Postal Service, Republicans and tea party stalwarts would be demanding a congressional hearing the day they returned from their holiday break.

So, who is going to give this kind of oversight and scrutiny to FedEX and UPS?
