Hibernian FC unveiled their new kit for Season 09/10 made by Le Coq Sportif.

Hibernian has once again combined the traditional with the innovative for the new playing kit for season 2009/10. Taking a stance against the usual home and away kit launch schedule, this summer the Club will introduce all of next season’s outfield playing kit at the same time.

In conjunction with long-term technical sponsor, Le Coq Sportif, Hibernian has developed a unique inter-changeable playing strip system that can be mixed and matched in several classic Hibernian green and white combinations.

The Club has listened to supporters with a return to the classic Hibernian colours and strip layout – the vintage Hibernian Green-white-green strip is back. Simple, clean-cut straight lines allow the Club colours to stand out, including detail and panels of dark green, linking the kit back to the original Hibernian shirt. The central placement of the Club crest pays homage to the history of Hibernian and provides a balanced finish to the shirt.

And for the first time in five years Hibernian’s change strip will once again be all-white. Bright, direct and incisive, the much requested all-white combination is finished with emerald and dark green flashes and trim, identifying it as truly Hibernian. Available for the first time with green numbering and lettering, the all-white strip will be a must-have for all Hibernian supporters.

With both strips being based around white shorts, supporters will also be able to save from having to buy 2 full sets of kit, and to create their own kit combinations.

Prices start from £17.99 for kid’s mini-kit shirts and £34.99 for adult shirts.

As with all modern playing kit, the new kit system is more than just a colour scheme. Having been tested and trialed by First Team players in training during season 08/09, the strips have been designed and built with fitted multi-mesh panelling giving optimum ventilation and torso breathability. The strategically placed mesh body panelling with varying degrees of perforation offers a comfortable, effective body management cooling system, vital for today’s intensive game of speed and agility.

All the kit is finished in the most durable of fabrics, to ensure the shirt, shorts and socks will hold their shape and form for the entire season and beyond.

Looks pretty good .stylish yet with a modern feel. Not sure about the 2 different green panels on the away shirt makes it look a bit odd and what are they going to wear against Celtic ?

The kit\'s are starting to grow on me now, nice mix of retro and modern styles, glad the white shorts are back.
Don\'t know why we have a white away kit though, when Celtic are the only club we need to wear it against.

Like most LQS stuff, the design is already dated, the fit reeks of the 90s, and the material quality looks atrocious.

It makes him look arrogant - and he acts it.

Totally agree. just because he couldnt get the No10 shirt

We have a theory that he thinks he\'s actually number 10 because he put on his strip and then looked in a mirror.

What he\'s actually done with his number is illegal under FIFA rules the goalkeeper has to be assigned number 1, and he\'s registered officially as 1. He has to have the 0 in front so folk don\'t know. Hence why My-Kalamaty and Szmaltio6lksisuiklousjklous5klousiusouies don\'t have the number 1.

Any Hearts fans out there want to **** on Hibs parade and report them?

If you knew anything about Hibs, you'd ofcourse realise that Makalambay and that shitty polish keeper we used to have requested those numbers, Riordan had 01 because he was re-signed during the season when 10 was already taken.

Sorry to rain on your parade but your full of crapp mate

Yeah that away kit is pretty pointless, more than likely last season\'s away kit would be retained as a third kit. Gone are the days when Hibs used to wear the home kit against Celtic\'s hoops (pre 90\'s), these days it\'s regarded as a bad kit clash.

I recall Hibs had a white away kit in the 00/01 season but rarely wore it, the previous yellow away kit got more outings.

I think that LCS did a good job, but as usual they have good ideas, but they added too many details, that the shirts didn\'t need. Like the side panels shorter than the front and the back of the shirts.

The shorts are great, with the F&C logo, I love it, and that\'s why I bought Birmingham 07/08 shirt

The socks too are great, half green half dark green with white top

You bought a football shirt because of a sponsor?

Yes, it has been the detail that convinced me to choose it.
I like F&C and the word Investment. I think this is a perfect sponsor layout for a football shirt.

dam.

thing is i thing the home kit is pretty good, looks like a better fit on steven fletcher.
mind, he is a hearts supporter at the end of the day.
would look better in maroon.
away is average, but home is nice

What\'s with the sponsor?
A company that will buy your house in 21 days for peanuts, then rent it back to you for a sky high fee.
*Only desperate down on their luck homeowners need apply. Although they will make exceptions for people who don\'t understand the true value of their property.

No wonder the black player (not sure who he is) looks miserable.

In fact, they all look miserable.

The kit is so shockingly bad it\'s funny, a little bit more detail and a better cut wouldn\'t have been too much to ask for, that kit reeks of 90s loose fit it\'s untrue.

Good job we ditched that brand in 2001 for......umm.....Kit@

Say no more! (mind you they did make a couple of nice kits).

The kits look fantastic. They have fine details like the pannels but LCS keeps it looking classy. It is well designed and I\'d love to have one to celebratey my Scottish heritage. My grandfather, originally from Edinburgh, would be proud!

okay, so hibernian are green and white usually, and the perennial champions/runners-up also have a green and white shirt.

they\'re kits clash, so they thought they would choose a white away kit.
this is such a stupid ****ing decision that i\'ve decided to call them ****S

The home strip is stunning although I would say I don\'t like the bit down the side and I would have prefered a purple away strip.

Paatelainen parts with Hibernian

Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen has resigned from the Easter Road club after 16 months in the job.

The Finn becomes the third Scottish Premier League manager to quit this week, following Gordon Strachan from Celtic and Aberdeen\'s Jimmy Calderwood.

A statement by Paatelainen on the club\'s official website says: \"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as manager.

\"We have travelled a journey together and the club will always hold a special place in my heart.\"

\"However, there comes a time when a change of direction is best for both parties.

\"I thank the club and the players and coaching staff for their commitment and talent and I wish the supporters everything that they would wish themselves.\"

Also on the website is a statement by Hibs chairman Rod Petrie: \"Mixu has been a whole-hearted and committed manager and we are all sorry to see him go.

\"However, we respect his decision. Mixu is held in the highest regard by everyone connected with the club and we wish him well for the future.\"

Paatelainen played as a striker at Hibs from 1998-2001 and from 2002-2003, having left for a season with French club Strasbourg.

A powerful forward in his day, Paatelainen also turned out for Dundee United, Aberdeen, Wolves, Bolton and St Johnstone.

He began coaching at youth level during his second spell at Hibs and moved on to first-team duties with St Johnstone and St Mirren.

His first taste of management came with Cowdenbeath in August 2005 and he went on to win the Division Three title.

In October 2006 he resigned his post at Central Park to take over at TPS Turku and steered the Finnish side to a third place finish last season.

More to follow...

Once again the kit designers have been lazy. The home kit looks exactly the same as the one we had about six years ago. It just looks so cheap and nasty. Makes the team look like a 2-bob slider team or even a bunch of chavs going for a kick aboot on a saturday. Just wish the fans had more input into the designs and as for the white one a complete waste of time if you ask me. bet they hardly wear it at all. Cant wait to see the back of le coq sportif, the brand most jaykieys opt for. Le coq sportif have certainley coq\'d up AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
